Frequently asked, honestly answered.

The questions buyers actually ask before signing a cold-storage contract — answered in plain language by the engineering team.

01Why did the World Health Organization ban polyurethane panels?
The chemicals used in the manufacturing of polyurethane (PU) foam were found to cause cancer in humans, and the gases released during the process were damaging the ozone layer. Izhar Foster discontinued PU panels and now manufactures only Polyisocyanurate (PIR) sandwich panels — which are safer, environmentally sound, and use chemicals that do not harm the ozone layer.
02What industries does Izhar Foster serve?
We serve meat, poultry, dairy, fruits and vegetables, seafood, pharmaceuticals, and logistics — offering tailored cold-storage and controlled-environment systems for each. Each industry has dedicated reference projects we can share on request.
03How can I get a cold storage solution for my business?
Reach us via the contact form, by email at info@izharfoster.com, or by phone at +92 42 3538 3543. Our process covers design, detailing, supply, installation, commissioning, and after-sales support — all under one contract.
04Can you design and install cold storage facilities for small-scale businesses?
Yes. We deliver solutions for businesses of every size, from sub-100 m³ walk-in rooms for restaurants and pharmacies up to multi-zone industrial distribution centres. Every project is fully customised to space, temperature, and product.
05Do you manufacture PIR sandwich panels?
Yes. We manufacture PIR sandwich panels in our own factory on 36-KM Multan Road, Lahore, in a wide range of sizes and specifications suitable for cold storage, warehouses, and industrial buildings.
06How do PIR panels compare to PUR panels in thermal insulation?
PIR (Polyisocyanurate) panels offer superior thermal insulation and significantly stronger fire resistance than PUR (Polyurethane). PIR has lower thermal conductivity and enhanced fire safety properties — which is why we discontinued PU manufacturing entirely.
07What is the process for installing prefabricated structures?
Our prefabricated structures are designed for quick installation. Modular units are manufactured at our Lahore factory and assembled on site with minimal disruption — typically 3× faster than conventional masonry construction.
08Can you help with maintenance of cold storage systems?
Yes. We offer ongoing maintenance, preventive servicing, troubleshooting, and emergency call-outs across Pakistan. Service contracts can be tailored to your operating hours and uptime requirements.
09What thicknesses of PIR sandwich panels do you offer?
Standard core thicknesses are 50 mm, 80 mm, 100 mm, 125 mm, and 150 mm. We can produce up to 250 mm for specialised applications. Cold rooms below −20°C typically use 100–150 mm; ambient applications usually use 50–80 mm.
10Do you provide after-sales support?
Yes. We provide installation assistance, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and emergency response — for the entire lifespan of your facility.
11Can I customise the size of the cold storage facility?
Yes. All cold storage solutions can be fully customised based on your space, temperature, throughput, and product-specific requirements.
12What are the advantages of PIR sandwich panels?
Superior thermal insulation (49× greater than concrete, 42× greater than brick), strong fire resistance, soundproofing, lightweight construction, ozone-friendliness, and a lifespan exceeding 50 years — combined with up to 30% energy savings.
13Do you offer prefabricated rooms for residential use?
Yes. We offer prefabricated solutions for both commercial and residential applications — modular rooms, offices, classrooms, labour housing, and storage units.
14Are PIR panels fire-resistant?
Yes. PIR panels are designed to slow the spread of fire, carrying fire class B1 (foam class B2) per ASTM E84 testing — making them a safe and reliable choice for industrial and commercial buildings.
15Are PIR panels energy-efficient?
Yes. PIR insulation reduces heat transfer dramatically, lowering refrigeration load, energy consumption, and utility bills throughout the building's life — typically saving around 30% versus legacy systems.
16What services do you provide for cold-room infrastructure?
A complete range: high-quality PIR panels, durable insulated doors, installation accessories, refrigeration systems, electrical accessories, controls, design, project management, commissioning, and ongoing service.
